Athletics North Queensland and Oceania Athletics is excited to confirm that an Invitational Meet will be held in Cairns on Sunday 11 July between 1pm-4pm. This event will showcase the best athletes from Australia and possible New Zealand in selected Senior (open) events (100m, 200m, 400m, short and long Hurdles, High Jump, Discus, Javelin, Pole Vault). As this is a National Permit Meet, athletes at this event can qualify for the 2022 World Championships.
To allow opportunities for our athletes to prepare themselves for the Coral Coast Carnival (as well as meeting high performance athletes), club athletes have the opportunity to compete in exhibition events. The events on offer are 100m, Long Jump and Shot Put.
